Mike McLennan |

Mike and wife Jerry McLennan this year have bred reining and cutting quarter horses for 42 years. Recently they have taken these proven Quarter Horse mares, crossed them with Friesian stallions, trained and competed the produce with good results. They were on the US pairs team in 2003 in Paris, France and in 2005 in Salzburg, Austria. These same horses were selected “best fit” at the Paris competition.

Mike, a (too soon) retired oil and gas executive, has been a cutting horse judge for both NCHA and ACHA, having judged some of their larger shows across the country. |

Since 2007 his emphasis has been on acquiring experience with the Friesian crosses in a four in hand, competing in Oklahoma and Texas at the intermediate level and most recently, in 2009, at the FEI level in Florida qualifying 5 horses for the WEG in October of 2010. in truly “international” classes (1 Brit, 1 Swede, 1Pole, 2 Canadians, several Americans and 1 Texan). At the 2009 Live Oak International CDE, Mike’s team was awarded the “best fit” award. |
