Scoring

The courses for Happ's Trail Horse Challenges may include:

1. Up and down hill
2. Cinch check
3. Creek crossings and other water obstacles
4. Bridges
5. Backing
6. Various gaits: walk, trot, jog, lope
7. Mount and dismount
8. Hoof check
9. Leading
10. Trailer loading & unloading
11. Live animals
12. Pivots, sidepasses
13. Ditches
14. Stationary objects, animate objects
15. Dragging or carrying objects
16. Other obstacles as we have ideas

Scoring:
6 - Excellent - equine alert and attentive, moved quickly and easily through obstacle
5 - Very Good - equine completed obstacle easily without hesitation
4 - Good - equine completed obstacle with wariness or slight hesitation - needed urging
3 - Fair - one refusal
2 - Poor - two refusals
1 - Very Poor - refusal(s) and equine and competitor did not seem to work together
1 - By-Pass without attempting - if rider asks to pass without attempting the obstacle due to the obstacle being beyond the mount's training level
0 - Not completed - did not check cinch when required, chose to by-pass after attempting, or three refusals and asked to ride on
C - Animal Cruelty - judge will contact organizer - competitor and mount may be asked to leave the property
