General Information

Home Newsletter Contact Info Directions & More

Happ's Derby Series is a series of unrecognized events following the current rules and specifications of the USEA. It will be conducted and judged accordingly. Please note the following information:

  • Schooling dress
  • Helmet, medical armband and protective vest required for Jump Course

The organizers reserve the right to:

    • cancel, combine or divide any division or class
    • alter the course, advertised times or officials if necessary
    • refuse any entry
    • require withdrawal of any entry (without refund) on the advice of the Veterinarian and/or Ground Jury
    • use their discretion in matters not specified in the rules

All competitors are encouraged to inspect the cross-country course after 3:00 p.m. Friday. If a competitor has a question regarding specifics of the course he/she should call it to the attention of the organizer for clarification. Competitors are welcome to walk the course during the day Saturday—only electric vehicles will be allowed on the grounds other than official vehicles.

The Official Bulletin Board will be located near the show office.

We have added Hopeful level for our April 2007 Derbies, and also Grasshopper level for the July, August and September Derbies. We hope everyone will enjoy their new jumps. We want to support beginning riders and horses so that they can learn and improve and prepare to move up to recognized USEA competition levels.

Schooling opportunities are available at Happ's. Please call ahead to reserve your desired dates. The cross-country course officially closes April 29, and no schooling will be allowed after that date, for people competing in the Happ's Horse Trials being held May 26-27, 2007.

Competitors are welcome to compete in:

  • Happ’s Horse Trials Spring Derbies I & II on April 21 & 22,
  • Happ's Horse Trials on May 27-28
  • Happ's Horse Trials Summer Derbies III & IV in July
  • Happ's Horse Trials Summer Derbies V & VI in August
  • Happ's Horse Trials Fall Derbies VII & VIII in September

No dogs are allowed on the grounds.
Violators will be asked to leave without refund.
