It is the competitors' responsibility to be certain that harness and equipment are sound and in good repair and that the horses are fit.

If you must bring your dog, it is required to be tied, and under control, at all times!!! No dogs are allowed in the barn.
$25 fine per dog per infraction.

Every competitor or his/her proxy is to be at competitor meetings to draw for plot and for Log Skid and Obstacles Order of Go. Log skid and Obstacle Course maps will be available at that time. Every competitor is required to sign a waiver. Anyone under 18 must be signed for and accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Plowing Rules

  1. Plowing will commence at 9:00am
  2. All classes will plow in sod
  3. Depth gauge on plow allowed in all classes
  4. Any type of jointer or cutter permitted
  5. Teams and equipment need not be the property of the competitor.
  6. Every plowman will strike out his land at the stake with his plot number
  7. Competitor will furnish stakes, if desired
  8. No leaders of animals
  9. No handling of land
  10. Every plowman will show six visible rounds on his/her strike and then haw to finish his plot between his neighbor and his crown.
  11. Every plowman must have six visible rounds finished by 12 noon or forfeit 5 points off his total score.
  12. Every plowman must finish by 3:00pm or be disqualified.
  13. Every plowman will plow his/her own plot (exception being those participating in the "group plow".
  14. The decision of the judge(s) will be final.
  15. Any plowman interfering with the judge(s) or infringing these rules will be disqualified.

Log Skid Rules

  1. Rules of particular course will be explained with course map received at the competitor meeting.
  2. No riding on logs, no neck yokes, no butt straps.
  3. Low score wins
  4. Tie will be broken by skidding log specific distance—closest move to the asked for distance being the winner

Note: Penalty points will be assigned for:

  • touching or moving a cone by horse(s) or driver
  • stepping on or over line by horse(s) or driver
  • lines passing over a cone
  • distance stopped from designated point

Obstacle Course Rules

  1. Rules of particular course will be explained with course map received at the competitor meeting.
  2. All teams will hitch to the same vehicle, which will be provided.
  3. Time will start when first horse’s nose crosses the start line and will stop when first horse's nose crosses the finish line.
  4. Obstacles must be driven in correct order. Failure to do so will result in elimination.
  5. The competitor with the fewest penalty points will win.
  6. A tie will be broken by time on course with the faster time the winner.
