Navigator Clinic

  • $40 for turnout with equine
  • $15 individual w/o equine
  • Entry Form

Many drivers under rate the use of the navigator during the marathon phase of a CDE, usually to their peril. The navigator is an intricate part of a team effort during the marathon. The navigator can in many cases "save" a driver from an accident or from being eliminated due to an error on course.
In most cases the following is true:
Driver + Horse + Navigator = Marathon Team
(5 yrs training) + (3 yrs training) + (0 training) = accident or elimination

• The clinic would be approximately four hours long…two sessions(10am-noon and noon-2pm) with max of 6 drivers per session…unlimited number of auditors.

• The clinic will start without horses and a seminar session. We will then hitch and practice what has been discussed .

• Good for drivers of miniatures as well due to the topics covered, and the possibility that you may navigate for someone else and/or at some point in your driving career drive a pony or horse.

Are you in the correct position for balancing the carriage

Vehicles/carriages

Incidents and responses

Good communication

A team effort

Timing

On course direction/direction in the hazards

Responsibility and trust

Safety and safety equipment
