Every year so far, we've Escaped Cabin Fever in a slightly different way. This year's Arena Driving Trial topped them all. We had a whopping 32 turnouts in competition. True to form, the weather brought sun and rain on and off, so we did what Mother Nature called for and Happ's provided, the luxury of trotting around both indoors and out. It was a grand way to get together after the long winter, with friends and furry horses. Judge Bob Groswold educated by virtue of his thoughtful Dressage remarks, the outdoor Cones were sweeping, and the two indoor hazard obstacles proved quite thrilling. Thanks to Ron Whiteman's wonderfully scrumptious hot soups with all the fixings, we all enjoyed warm and happy tummies. Special thanks go to the many members of Way Out West Minis who donated, volunteered, cooked, wrangled, and supported Cabin Fever Escape. Extra special thanks go to Ann Maloch and Albie Morin who worked long into the dark Friday night so we could enjoy a finished floor in the Happ's barn meeting room. We thanked them with admiration and muddy boots!
Cabin Fever Escape hopes to be invited back to Happ's again in 2009 for yet another rendezvous among old and new friends. We hope you'll join us for whatever new adventures develop.
