Happ's Combined Driving Event is an American Driving Society (ADS)
approved event and is governed by the current rules and
specifications of the ADS. It will be conducted and judged
accordingly. The following additional rules apply.
- Helmets are mandatory for all Drivers, Grooms/Navigators, and
passengers for the entire marathon. Provide your own helmets.
Protective vests are also recommended.
- Medical armbands are required at all times for anyone riding
on a cart or carriage. ADS armbands are available for purchase
with entry and at the show office.
- There will be no referees, however, there may be spotters
along the route to check for break of pace and deviation from the
course.
- No schooling is allowed on the Dressage, Marathon or Obstacle
courses until after their utilization, and then only by permission
of the organizer, under penalty of elimination.
- Pre-Competition checklist must be turned in at Wheel
Measurement prior to Dressage and at Safety Check prior to
marathon (if using a different vehicle) for all levels.
Competitors are responsible for being certain their harness(es)
and vehicle(s) are in good repair and equine fit.
- Following Article 910, a competitor may drive more than one entry, limited to one entry per
level. Additional entries in any given level must go "HC". Navigators may also navigate for more
than one entry at any level(s), if schedule allows.
- Dogs must be tied in camp, or on a leash and under control at
all times. No dogs are allowed in the barn or office. A fine of
$25 will be imposed for each infraction of this rule.
