Rochelle "Shelly" Temple

Rochelle ‘Shelly’ Temple, a native of West Chester, PA, lives in Powhatan, Virginia with her husband/navigator Fran Doto. She teaches carriage driving and trains horses at her Catalyst Driving Center, as well as working for her family’s freight company. Her daughter, Kana Grogan, is also a horsewoman.

Shelly has been USEF National Champion in the Combined Driving Single Pony division and was a member of the Bronze Medal winning US Team for the World Pony Driving Championship held in Denmark in July, 2007. Individually, she was second in dressage, with one of only two scores in the thirties at the competition. She finished tenth overall. Shelly and Cooper also won the 2006 and 2007 USEF Horse of the Year awards for Combined Driving Single Pony.

Shelly drives LR Ami B-Line, known as Cooper, a nine year old Morgan gelding that she trained herself. She has been competing in combined driving events since 1997. Starting her horse career as a teenager she foxhunted, showed hunters, evented and competed at FEI level in dressage, was the show manager of Dressage at Devon for several years, and served as the president of the Delaware Valley Combined Training Association. Among other interests, she is a licensed Master Skydiver, an American Driving Society and USEF judge, a member of the ADS Licensed Officials Committee, and a board member of the Old Dominion Morgan Horse Association.
