Robert was born in Germany where he began his riding career. Beginning as a Young Rider and earning a spot as a member on the senior team, he gained experience and success as a National and International competitor. He then went on to achieve his certification and status as a Reitlehrer FN. Having begun his career in Germany before moving to the United States, Robert has 40 years of experience competing up to FEI level in Eventing and Grand Prix Dressage.

He and his wife, Alice, are located in Olympia Washington where they own and operate Edelweiss Training Center. The facility has all the amenities for full service boarding and training, and lesson haul-ins are also welcome.
His philosophy for teaching is to establish a solid foundation to work from for both horse and rider while enjoying the ride. His teaching career spans over a period of 35 years, again with success.

His students have competed in National and International competitions and championships.
Robert has proven to be a valuable clinician as well and is available for clinics from the beginner level through Grand Prix in both Eventing and Dressage.
Robert is also a certified equine appraiser, ASEA Lifetime member.
