The Lewis County Pickers

The Lewis County Pickers….also known as the Lewis County Pickin' Party…have been playing together for about a dozen years. Playing anything from Bluegrass Festivals to Birthday Parties, from Fund Raisers to Weddings, churches and retirement homes (just about anything for a free meal and sometimes a little gas money).

The Group consists of…

Fred Hart… plays the stand up bass and drives the van and is in charge of the sound system…all round handy guy!

Merry Hart… plays the guitar…sings lead and harmony.

Gary Phelps… play fiddle and mandolin…sings lead and harmony.

Cindy Compton… plays banjo…to fill out this little hometown (Back Porch) Bluegrass Gospel "Band".

Fred and Merry have been married 34 years and have lived in Chehalis since 1989. Gary Phelps is a long time resident of the Rochester area, with his wife, Andy, of 48 years. Cindy Compton is retired from the State and lives in the Adna area and is one of the few female banjo players around.
