Bruce Matthews is one of the earliest, if not the first, to employ the specific methods and equipment he uses. He utilizes
his customized harness and specialized training techniques developed over years of working with Drafthorses to train both calm
and resistant equine to accept a farrier's shoeing.
Bruce Matthews is a 1971 graduate of the Eastern States Farrier School in Phoenix, NY. He is the founding father and
first President of the Vermont Farrier's Association and is also a member of the American Farrier's Association, the Vermont
Drafthorse Association, and the Southern New England Farrier's Association as well as a Lifetime Member of the Brotherhood of
Working Farriers.
