Biography

Boyd Levet

Boyd Levet provides professional announcing services for horse trials in North America. At home in Area VII of the U.S.E.A., he is no stranger to horse trials in the region. As an avid leader in support of three-day eventing, Boyd brings years of articulate field announcing to this complex and competitive sport. His supportive and inviting style brings the best of professional European flavour to the nurturing and comforting announcements that aid riders, trainers and families to follow and prepare for their rides. His savvy for the intricacies of three-day eventing provides skilled leadership at all the events he announces. His own equestrian experience was launched on the rough High Sierra trails of his youth, with a deep care and compassion for the special needs of the rider's partner-under-saddle in the wilds. His passions later spread to the competitive equestrian venues of the Willamette Valley, where daughter Hillary later went on to ride to Area VII training division champion, among many high equestrian honors.

Boyd's career as a television political commentator, and later as a national corporate leader in Internet journalism, laid the groundwork for growing his personal business in support of three-day events and varied horse trial venues. Rooted in Area VII, Boyd's own businesses have now reached out to many regions through his trademark Levet Equestrian Event Announcing, a subsidiary of Boyd's Convergent Media Strategies LLC. Boyd and his wife Kay work from their rural residence outside Sisters, Oregon, in the midst of Central Oregon high desert horse country. Surrounded by the horses they love, their location and nearby Roberts Field airport provide the perfect launch platform for offering horse trials support through out North America.

Boyd announcing

In addition to long-time horse trial events, Boyd is pleased to support the successes of many newer venues too and is honored to return this year as announcer and as part of the very special leadership team for Happ's Horse Trials.
