Happ's officially closed on October 15, 2011.

I (Maureen) accepted a position that was offered to me to build a carriage competition facility in Scottsdale, Arizona. After moving down there it became apparent that a competition facility cannot be developed on that property and the owners have now changed their focus.

I have come home to the beautiful hills, trees and water of southwest Washington that I so love just before the Arizona temperatures started hitting 100 degrees on a daily basis.....I will not miss that heat. Unfortunately, I did miss getting to see the Arizona desert in full bloom which the natives told me is quite beautiful.

A major highlight of my experience in Arizona was working with Drew Callahan......thoroughly an enjoyable experience being his "flunkie". I did have to say good-bye to a couple of special friends I was fortunate enough to get to know while down there. I will miss them and hopefully they will send me some pictures of the blooming desert....."Wonder Woman" Debb enjoys photography and got some good equine pictures for me while I was there and Micky is a talented artist who rides her horses in the desert on a daily basis. So between the two of them.......I expect good stuff coming my way.

Currently I am enjoying being back home with family and friends. I do not want to sit around doing nothing very long so am starting a job search...just not sure yet if it will be equine related or otherwise. I am open to all possibilities and am thinking perhaps something new and different in my life would be fun.
